EdS Sequence of Study

SPP courses reflect an integrated and sequential program of study, thus they must be taken in a specific sequence. Practica form an integral and essential component of professional training. Because practica in the SPP provide opportunities for students to practice, under supervision, the application of knowledge and specific skills taught in a particular course, specific practicum must be taken each semester in the program.  Students are advised to carefully select courses required by the SPP, but not taught by the SPP faculty (e.g., statistics and research methods, foundations courses). The SPP courses are listed below by semester. A minimum of 12 graduate hours is required by the Graduate School for full-time enrollment during the fall and spring semesters for students not on appointment. Specialist students are awarded an EdS degree upon completion of all program requirements. A Master’s degree is not awarded to students completing the specialist program.
