· Dr. Mary Anne Clark awarded 2008 Graduate Teacher of the Year
· Dr. Sondra Smith-Adcock received the Counselor Education Faculty Award
· Dr. Cirecie West-Olatunji awarded the 2007 Community Service Award from the Association of Black Psychologists for her post-Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts
· Dr. William Conwill awarded the Meritorious Service Award and the Exemplary Diversity Leadership Award from the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development
· Dr. Larry Loesch received the 2008 College of Education Life Time Achievement Award
· Dr. Andrea Dixon was elected to a three-year term as secretary of Chi Sigma Iota International
· Doctoral graduate Shifa Podikunju-Hussain won a grant for her study on Muslim teens
