Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies
The Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies is a campus-wide interdisciplinary center dedicated to advancing knowledge, policy, and practices in early childhood studies. Early childhood studies is an interdisciplinary field focused on young children birth to age 5, their families, and the contexts that support their health, development, learning, and well-being. To accomplish its mission, the center partners with and draws upon the expertise of faculty and students from colleges throughout the university; local, state, national, and international partners; as well as children, families, and communities. Major UF collaborators include the College of Education, the College of Medicine and Health Sciences Center, Baby Gator Child Development and Research Center, and the Office of Human Resource Services.
The Center was established in December 2010. Much has been accomplished since this time and new activities and initiatives are occurring. Please visit our site regularly for announcements and updates.
