At the core of my beliefs about teaching is the value I place on lifelong learning. My Educational Technology courses are designed for professionals who learn together from all stages of the career continuum. The predominant approaches I use in structuring my courses are to apply gradual release of responsibility and to design meaningful experiences. My primary teaching areas are in Instructional Design and Distance Education.

I study the effectiveness of technology-supported learning environments for insight into improving performance for K-20 learners. My primary research efforts have been focused on virtual schools and distance education in general, as well as classroom technology implemenations and technology professional development in Florida public schools.
