Overview

During the LeTaS! funding year (2007-2008), project leaders worked with University of Florida graduate students in physical, chemical, earth, space, life, and environmental sciences to identify, review, and post useful science content resources that would support the planning efforts of elementary teachers. Resources are organized by science content strands and include a short description and links to web pages that may be helpful to elementary teachers as they develop science lessons or seek to better understand what they are trying to teach. On each science content page you will find:

    • Print Resources:  During our funding year, participating elementary teachers found these books to be helpful in developing standards-driven, inquiry-based lesson plans and units.
    • Web Resources:  Carefully selected and reviewed, links to science content-oriented websites appropriate for elementary teachers are listed and briefly described.
    • Science in the News:  Linked to the on-line article, the science consultant discusses the significance of the news to students and/or teachers and connections to the science content strand.
