Ester de Jong, director of the School of Teaching and Learning and professor of ESOL/Bilingual Education received the UF Research Foundation Professorship.

Buffy Bondy

Recognized as UF Distinguished Teaching Scholar

Elizabeth “Buffy” Bondy was appointed to the UF Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars playing and integral role in enhancing the policies that maintain the university’s high-quality of academic excellence and teaching scholarship.

Cultivating interest in cryptography and cybersecurity

Pavlo “Pasha” Antonenko, associate professor of Educational Technology, and a team of researchers were awarded nearly $1 million from the National Science Foundation to design, test and pilot an online, touch-friendly cryptography-focused curriculum.

Alumna honored with faculty excellence award

Triple Gator Krista Ruggles was recognized at Utah Valley University for support of UVU’s mission of student success through exceptional teaching as well as demonstrated excellence in scholarship and service.

Supporting research to advance education

Barbara Keener (Ed.D. ’76) has taken her lifelong support of the College of Education one step further establishing a dissertation fund to advance the success and research of Higher Education Administration doctoral students.

Jamee and Gilbert Miller Ed-Tech Learning Studio and Scholarship Endowment

Jamee (BAE ’01 M.Ed. ’02 Elementary Education) was the 2009 COE Outstanding Young Alumni award recipient. She and her husband Gilbert recently committed to create the Jamee and Gilbert Miller Ed-Tech Learning Studio in Norman Hall. Jamee and Gilbert have also established an endowment at the college to support graduate students in the ProTeach program whose concentration is Educational Technology.

Professor Mark Allen Koorland Scholarship

Mark Koorland’s legacy will live on. Mark, a triple Gator, earned his BAE in Education in 1970, M.Ed. in Education in 1972 and Ph.D. in Special Education in 1977. Ahead of his passing in December 2018, he and his wife, Vivian Fueyo, worked to establish the the Professor Mark Alan Koorland Scholarship to provide scholarships for graduate (Ph.D.) students in the College majoring in Special Education.

Wanda & Janice Wilson Foundation Scholarship

Rufus Wilson of the Wanda & Janice Wilson Foundation made a gift to College of Education to establish the Wanda & Janice Wilson Foundation Scholarship available to support students at the college. Rufus started the scholarship in honor of his wife and mother, who are lifelong educators.
