Patricia Snyder named UF Distinguished Professor

The University of Florida has awarded Patricia Snyder with the rare honor of Distinguished Professor. Snyder, only the seventh College of Education professor to ever receive this distinction, is one of three named this year university-wide.

Norman Hall Construction Update

The Norman Hall rehabilitation project is making great progress, with the new conference center expected to be done by the end of June. According to a construction update from Scorpio, new drywall has been installed and is currently being painted while other finishes are put in. Next steps include installation of the ceiling tile grid, as well as tile in the bathrooms and piping in preparation for the new air conditioning.

Triple Gators Win 2019 Outstanding Article Award

Triple gators Melanie Acosta (B.S. ‘02, M.Ed. ‘09, Ph.D. ‘13) and Diedre Houchen (B.S. ‘05, M.A.E. ‘09, Ph.D. ‘15) were recently recognized by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) with a 2019 Outstanding Article Award for their collaborative work published in the Journal of Teacher Education.

Girlfriends of Pinellas County Gets the Gator Experience

Girlfriends of Pinellas County is a program designed to foster a supportive environment of friendship and mentorship for young girls to flourish. 30 fourth, fifth and sixth grade girls travelled to the University of Florida College of Education eager to experience a day in the life of a Florida Gator.
