The UF College of Education and the UF College of Medicine are pleased to announce a new online master’s degree program in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on medical and professional education. The program is designed for health science professionals who want to pursue an advanced degree in professional education. This cohort based program will start in the Fall of 2012.

The program will help health science professionals acquire knowledge and skills they need to become educational leaders, and to pursue scholarly activities that will inform and improve health professions educational programs. It is intended that participants in this program will bring their unique professional contexts and experiences to their learning. They will be active contributors in each course, which will include applying the course’s learning objectives to their professional lives. This is a job embedded program, participants will be expected to apply their learning to their day-to-day activities as medical and health science educators, and bring back to each class discussion new experiences that arise.

Anticipated outcomes of the program for graduates include an expert understanding of teaching and learning theory and practice; more advanced skills for teaching, assessing and program evaluation; skills to conduct and assess educational research; robust mentorship practices; and leadership skills in educational environments.
