Dr. Ana Puig Named ACA Fellow

Dr. Ana Puig was selected as one of only two recipients for a 2020 American Counseling Association (ACA) Fellows Award. This award is the highest honor presented by ACA for contributions to the counseling profession. Dr. Puig serves as scholar and research director of the Office of Educational Research in the College of Education, and affiliate faculty of Counselor Education.  She is a licensed mental health counselor and qualified supervisor in the state of Florida and a National Certified Counselor. Dr. Puig has over 25 years of experience working with clients using holistic wellness and humanistic frameworks. She holds a Spirituality and Health certificate from the Center for Spirituality & Health at UF and serves as Associate Director for its research programs. She is also a core team member of the UF Mindfulness program. She has conducted research on creativity, counselor burnout and wellness, complementary therapies, and mindfulness and published articles focusing on these and related topics for the past 15 years. She will be recognized at an awards ceremony to be held during the general session at the ACA 2020 Conference & Expo in San Diego on Friday, April 17th.
