Eric Richardson, counselor education doctoral student, was selected to receive the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Young Investigator Abstract Submission Award for his abstract for his poster presentation titled, “Perceived Quality of Sleep During Substance Use Disorder Treatment.”

Houseknect Receives Dissertation Research Grant

Alisa Houseknecht, doctoral student, received a research grant from the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES) to support her dissertation titled, “Motivation, Belonging, and Support: Examining Factors that Affect Persistence in Counselor Preparation Programs.”

Doctoral Students Receive Recognition From the International Center

Two international students, Huzeyfe Cakmakci and Debolina Ghosh, in the Counselor Education Doctoral Program were recognized by the UF International Center in receiving certificates of excellence. Huzeyfe is from Turkey and Debolina is from India. Dr. Sondra Smith serves as the chair and mentor for both students.
