Application Deadlines

This masters program is only for students currently in the Unified Early Childhood Proteach (UEC) Program that wish to complete their fifth year in early childhood.  We have a rolling admissions process and do not adhere to strict deadlines for applications but will consider applications as they are received.  However, it takes some time for applications to be processed through UF’s admission system.  With that in mind, we suggest completing your application file by February 15th.

Admission Requirements

  • Application fee (can be paid online via the application system or by check or money order)
  • Official transcripts from colleges/ universities previously attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
    • At least two letters must be from academic and/ or work related recommenders
    • Can be submitted electronically via the application system or as hard copies
  • Official GRE scores
    • Verbal – 147
    • Quantitative – 141

Application Deadlines

This Master of Arts (M.A.E.) program is designed for applicants that hold or are eligible to hold certification in Early Childhood Studies.  This program offers both a thesis and non-thesis program of study.  Admission to the MAE in Early Childhood Studies is for Fall Semester Only. To ensure full consideration, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all required application materials to the Graduate School by December 15. Early Childhood Studies program faculty conduct review of applicants’ materials in January. If you are an international applicant it is suggested that you submit your application at minimum four weeks before the suggested deadlines.

  • Applicants applying for the Specialist Degree Program must have already earned a graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution.

The Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Studies is open to both non-degree seeking students, as well as students enrolled in graduate programs at the University of Florida.

A Bachelors or equivalent degree from a regionally accredited university is required for admissions. Applications are made through the UF Admissions Office. Program faculty review applications and make admissions decisions based on the degree to which applicants’ qualifications and educational goals match our mission and resources.

Spring Admission: Applications must be received by October 15th.

Summer Admission: Applications must be received by March 15th.
