Welcome to the M.Ed. online program in Educational Leadership.  As a new UF graduate student, it is a pleasure to be able to assist you in the first step in reaching one of your professional goals, that of becoming a Florida certified principal. The program is more flexible for your personal schedule, but at the same time, it has the rigor and quality you would expect from UF.  As your advisor, I am willing to discuss any aspect of your program, coursework or other issues with your work.  My goal is to have you graduate with a Master’s Degree and be a highly trained person ready to take the next professional step. Several orientation materials are available on this link.  They include an introductory video, an orientation letter and a slide presentation.  These materials are to be viewed and reviewed as necessary.  It is important to understand and use the resources provided.  Please make sure one of the first things you do is establish a GatorLink e-mail.  This is the only method we at UF will use to communicate with you and you will not want to miss important program information. One document in the links is a Program Planning document.  This form is to be completed by the end of the first semester of the program.  It is a guide for your coursework.  It specifies courses that are to be taken and it is your responsibility to complete the plan according to the course sequence provided.  The program is designed to take two courses (3 hours each) a semester, but, we’ve found that load may be too taxing for some due to personal reasons.  If you cannot complete two courses a semester, please let me know so we can plan your coursework accordingly and you can properly complete your Program Planning document.  When the Program Planning document is complete, please submit it electronically to me.  I will approve it and send it to Angela Rowe for your file. Welcome again to our program.  It will be a fun and rewarding experience for us all!
