Program Overview<\/h2>\n

In this program, you’ll master quantitative and qualitative research methodologies while gaining a deep understanding of educational systems from policy to classroom application. By combining concepts from school administration, school finance, and public policy, our program prepares graduates for academic or research-based positions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students establish an independent research agenda, develop the ability to contribute to the scholarly literature, and form a connection to policy evaluation. Through dynamic coursework that prepares students to take their qualifying exams before proceeding to the dissertation, our program cultivates a comprehensive skill set that empowers students to thrive after graduation.<\/span><\/p>\n

While completion time varies from student to student, many of our graduates complete their doctorate in educational leadership in four years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Doctorate in Educational Leadership Core Curriculum<\/span><\/h2>\n

Our <\/span>Ph.D. curriculum<\/span><\/a> grounds students in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies while providing a robust understanding of educational systems \u2014 from the policy governing them to applied practice at the school and classroom levels. Nationally recognized education scholars lead regularly updated courses to ensure our students graduate with the most applicable knowledge for our educational environment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During their time in the program, our students are trained in the latest research techniques and skills. They are supported to present and publish their research, engage with other scholars nationally, and support educational practice locally and nationwide. The UF College of Education includes many <\/span>centers, institutes, and affiliates<\/span><\/a> working to meet the nation’s varied and fast-changing educational needs. The <\/span>Education Policy Research Center (EPRC)<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Early Childhood Policy Centers Collaborative<\/span><\/a> are two such groups that students working on their doctorate in educational leadership may collaborate with. <\/span><\/p>\n
