The Autism Science Foundation is accepting proposals related to research and training focused on profound autism. The program offers Pilot Grants of up to $35,000 for one-year projects led by established investigators, as well as Pre-doctoral Fellowships providing $35,000 for mentored graduate training. Priority areas include studies of underlying biological mechanisms, preliminary testing of behavioral or pharmacological interventions, strategies to improve recruitment and data collection among individuals with profound autism, and research on common co-morbid conditions. Faculty are encouraged to consult local research administrators regarding UFIRST requirements and limited-submission procedures, and may seek proposal development support through UF Strategic Research Development to strengthen applications.
