{"id":27365,"date":"2026-05-14T00:16:21","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T00:16:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/education.ufl.edu\/educational-research\/?p=27365"},"modified":"2026-05-14T00:16:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T00:16:22","slug":"changes-to-nsf-data-management-and-sharing-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/education.ufl.edu\/educational-research\/2026\/05\/14\/changes-to-nsf-data-management-and-sharing-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes to NSF Data Management and Sharing Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Effective April 27, 2026, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has updated its Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP) format requirement. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">All Data Management and Sharing Plans will be required to be completed through the research.gov webform\u00a0rather than uploading a PDF.<\/span> The form auto\u2011creates based on the proposal\u2019s primary Directorate and is required unless Principal Investigators can provide a valid justification for an exemption.\u00a0 Submitted PDFs will be overwritten by the new data. Proposals due on or before April 27, 2026 do not need to be updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that use of research.gov is strongly recommended as the NSF submission method at the University of Florida, especially since the new Data Management and Sharing Plans must be entered via the research.gov webform.
