UF Applied Practice and Learning in Elementary Education (UF-APLE)

University of Florida College of Education offers an innovative online teacher preparation program for individuals with an associate’s degree. Over 2 years, teacher candidates earn college credit through rigorous online coursework and on-the-job training. The program features competency-based learning aligned with high-leverage teaching practices, enabling teacher candidates to master teaching skills while placed in a classroom for the duration of their program.District-appointed Mentor Teachersprovide classroom guidance, coaching, and support in setting professional goals, modeling effective instructional practices, and developing lesson plans.

    Students who complete this program are eligible for:

    The online Ed.D. in Educational Technology takes a minimum of 3 years to complete. Students have to complete a minimum of 90 hours beyond their bachelor’s degree to graduate with their doctoral degree.

    Certification Pathway

    Helps participants who do not currently hold a teaching certificate to work towards obtaining one.

    In addition to a classroom-based mentor, a UF Clinical Navigator balance university coursework and classroom-based learning. This Navigator will act as liaison with the Mentor to support your learning for the duration of the program. This hands-on support is invaluable in helping teacher candidates navigate the challenges of teaching and grow into competent, confident educators.
