Application Instructions

The English Education Online Ph.D. program adheres to the University of Florida’s Graduate School’s minimum admission requirements, including a required 3.0 GPA in upper-division undergraduate coursework.

Ph.D. Application Directions

  1. Apply Online to the University of Florida Graduate School.

  2. Statement of Purpose: Submit a written statement detailing your academic objectives and rationale for pursuing the degree.

  3. Letters of Recommendation: Provide three letters of recommendation that evidence your academic potential.

  4. Academic Background: Provide documentation of your academic foundation, such as a B.A. or M.A. in English, or a substantial background in literature, writing, and communication.

  5. Curriculum Vitae/Resume: Submit a current resume detailing your professional and academic history.

(Note: Admission decisions are based on multiple sources of numerical and qualitative data framed by program goals. In rare cases, faculty may offer a conditional admit to students who do not meet all criteria.)

    Application Deadlines

    • All application materials for the program must be received before TBD for the TBD semester. 
    • Allow TBD weeks to gather all application materials, including official transcripts and letters of recommendation, as all materials are required for review and admission.
