Perihan Saygin, Ph.D.<\/h2>\n

Faculty Affiliate \u2013 Economics<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Research Interests:
<\/strong> Labor economics, economics of education, social and economic networks
<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Perihan Saygin joined the University of Florida Economics Department in Fall 2016. She received her Ph.D. from the Department\u00a0of\u00a0Economics, IMT Lucca Institute for Advanced Studies, Italy in 2012, and conducted her research for the PhD dissertation as a visiting scholar at the Center for Labor Economics, University of California, Berkeley in 2009-2012 under the supervision of Professor David Card. Before joining the University of Florida, she worked at the Economics Department of the University of Mannheim, Germany between 2012-2015 and served as a consultant to the World Bank, Washington D.C. Office between 2015-2016.\u00a0Her research takes an empirical approach to answer economic questions with policy implications.\u00a0Her PhD dissertation examined the gender differences in college applications. Her current research is focused on\u00a0education and labor market outcomes including\u00a0the career choices and effect of social networks in labor markets.<\/p>\n
