Research Biography

My research areas focus primarily on adoption and foster care, specifically maternal identity for adoptive mothers, preparing for foster and adoptive motherhood, and short-term and long-term psychological, emotional, and relational impacts for children in the foster care system. I use qualitative methods to understand the lived experiences of all members of the adoption triad and those individuals involved with or connected to the foster care system.
