Program Overview<\/span><\/h2>\n

The University of Florida Student Personnel in Higher Education (SPHE) program specifically prepares students for careers as student affairs professionals. While the program is based in student affairs, we designed our curriculum to address the needs of other student-centered positions across higher education, including academic advising, support services within academic affairs, admissions and financial aid. Because of this, our master\u2019s in higher ed administration alumni also pursue careers in veteran success services, graduate school administration, law school career services, medical and dental school academic affairs, and student success coaching programs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our online master’s in higher education students have a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. They come from community\/state colleges, research universities and liberal arts colleges across Florida and beyond. Most students entering this program have 3-5 years of work experience in higher education, but this is not a requirement for admission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We no longer require the GRE for admission to our online master’s in higher education administration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Choose the UF Online Master’s in Higher Education<\/span><\/h3>\n

While most of the courses in our online master’s in higher education administration program are asynchronous for your convenience, that certainly doesn’t mean they lack meaningful interaction and expert guidance! Our dynamic and regularly updated classes include video lectures and discussion opportunities for students and instructors to more deeply connect to the readings and lectures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students enter our graduate program in the Fall semester as cohort group members. Together, they complete a predetermined series of courses over two years, including Summer semesters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students in our online master\u2019s in higher education are required to be working full-time in the field while enrolled in our program. Additionally, online students complete practicum experiences to broaden their knowledge and experience in student affairs.
