Dr. Fengfeng Ke

BIO: Dr. Fengfeng Ke is an Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology in the College of Education, University of New Mexico. Her research focuses on digital game-based learning, computer-supported collaborative learning, and instructional multimedia. She received her doctorate in Instructional Systems from the College of Education at Pennsylvania State University.

A Vision of How Technology Will Change Education

Dr. Michael Mayrath

BIO: Dr. Mayrath Is a Postdoctoral Fellow on the Virtual Performance Assessment project at Harvard University. His fundamental interest is in improving education for K-12 and adult learners by utilizing innovative technologies to increase engagement, knowledge construction and collaboration.  In the classroom, he uses a guided socio-constructivist pedagogical approach that challenges students to create a community of practice and learn from each other . . . His research focuses on how educational psychology and assessment research can inform the design, development and implementation of multimedia environments, including virtual worlds, simulations and games . . . At Harvard, with funding from the Institute for Education Sciences, he is testing the feasibility of using an immersive environment to assess middle school students’ ability to perform scientific inquiry. The immersive environment is being developed using a game engine and multiple databases. The assessments are intended to be part of a standardized testing program such as FCAT) . . . Mayrath completed a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology in 2009 and a Master’s in Program Evaluation in 2008 from the University of Texas at Austin.

4-year trends for supporting ICT literacy in Florida

Dr. Albert D. Ritzhaupt

BIO: Dr. Ritzhaupt is an Assistant Professor in Instructional Technology in the Watson School of Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He is a college professor, educational researcher, software developer and instructional technologist. He teaches courses in instructional design and evaluation, research in distance education, instructional technology, managing instructional development, fundamentals of computer programming, and educational gaming and simulation . . . He completed his doctoral work at the University of South Florida in Instructional Technology, and Measurement and Research, and a Master of Business Administration at the University of North Florida . . . Ritzhaupt’s research interests focus on the meaningful integration of information and communication technology for the improvement of education at all levels. His interrelated research themes include: 1) the effective design, development, utilization, and evaluation of technology-enhanced instruction, 2) the appropriate teaching practices for technology-oriented curriculum, and 3) the investigation of factors that influence technology integration at all levels of education.
