The doctoral degree requires a minimum of 90 graduate credits. These are credits earned after the bachelor\u2019s degree. The categories for study in the doctoral program in mathematics education follow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The courses will be selected from the approved College of Education\u2019s approved list of research courses. The Director of Graduate Studies has the authority to approve substitute and alternative courses. An applicationto request a substitution or alternative must be made by the student and the student\u2019s chair. The planned program must include 13-15 hours of upper level (6000-7000) graduate coursework in the areas of Curriculum, Instruction, and doctoral seminars. Furthermore, all 13-15 of these hours should consist of courses\/seminars taken in the School of Teaching & Learning as follows:<\/p>\n
