New Business:
- Modify Graduate Course
EDA6948 – modifications
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22670
- Looks good except that the “UF Quality Matters (UF QM)” link in the syllabus is broken.
- How do we handle requests that rely on something else going through the approval system (see the prereqs)? The notes include the AAT number for easier tracking, and folks further down the line reconcile the two; also submitter usually attends upper committee mtgs. to provide backstory and answer questions
EDA7945 – modifications
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22671
- Also has prereqs that rely on other requests, so same question as 22670.
Motion to Conditionally Approve 22670, 22671 by Wright; Seconded by DelRio
EDH6051 modify course title, transcript title, and course description
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22725
- Not sure what the pre-requisiste is. A degree code. It’s also part of the submission instructions for prereqs.
- Should the link to Supplemental Syllabus Canvas site go to the homepage of canvas? It takes you there to then login. Once logged into Canvas, the link works.
- UF Quality Matters link does not work.
- Same question related to the supplemental syllabus.
EDH7916 modify course title, transcript title, and course description
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22726
- Not sure what the pre-requisiste is. A degree code. It’s also part of the submission instructions for prereqs.
- Should the link to Supplemental Syllabus Canvas site go to the homepage of canvas?
- UF Quality Matters link does not work.
- Same question related to the supplemental syllabus.
Motion to Conditionally Approve 22725, 22726 by Wright; Seconded by DelRio
Change prerequisites for EDF 7405 – Advanced Quantitative Foundations of Educational Research
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22773
- What does “removing EDF 6402 to match the intention of the program” mean? Question addressed
Motion to Approve by Washington; Seconded by Hanson
- New Graduate Course
EDA 6XXX Professional Consulting in Educational Environments
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22683
- Title is different on syllabus than forms (Professional Consulting in Educational Environments or in or for)
- Graduate catalog link does not work
- Questions in Column Understanding Professional Consulting italicized like others Sept 4 doesn’t need; After greets or clients; Sept 18 Stroh Ch 5 and ?
- The request title is wrong because the title within the form matches the title at the top of the syllabus.
- The course description in the syllabus is the request description, not the actual course description.
- Should cell phone number be attached to this submission? Consider alternate?
Motion to Deny by Wright; Seconded by DelRio
Joint EDA 4/6XXX Professional Consulting in Educational Environments
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22685
- On the Submitted Form version Description of request, the last sentence is incomplete; it just says “the cour”
- Under “Assignment and Grades,” the 6000-level and 4000-level course both have 5 participations for same points; same description.
- Both have Reading/Inquiry for same points; same description.
- 6000-level has five exercises for 50 points; the 4000-level course has 4 exercises for 40 points; same description.
- The 6000-level and 4000-level have same team milestone deliverables, same deliverables and same points; both with group grade.
- Both have same final client deliverables for same points; same description; group grade.
- 6000 has client presentation; 4000 does not.
- 6000 has professional CV; 4000 does not.
- Under “Assessment Overview,” client presentation is described but no mention of distinction between 4000 and 6000; also Assessment Overview does not mention Professional CV at all.
- 6000 has total grade of 325 points; 4000 has 265 points.
- In the Rationale, the distinctions are made, but not in the syllabus. Should the distinctions be made in the syllabus?
- Are there enough distinctions between 4000 and 6000, and if so, are they articulated clearly?
- Edits to the form; last sentence incomplete
- Need to increase articulation of the distinction between 4XXX and 6XXX assignments and their weight
- Need a new AAT submission for the undergrad joint version
- Please do not resubmit separate 4XXX and 6XXX submissions
Motion to Recycle by Wright; Seconded by Hanson
- New Undergraduate Course
EDA 4XXX Professional Consulting in Educational Environments
https://secure.aa.ufl.edu/Approval/reports/22748
- Syllabus needs to be made ADA accessible (hyperlinks)
- The course description in the syllabus is the request description, not the actual course description.
- Should cell phone number be attached to this submission? Consider alternate?
- Prereq course is required; please add
Motion to Deny by Wright; Seconded by DelRio
