Sharon Lutz

Sharon Lutz began her doctoral program at the University of Florida in Fall 2011.  Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in History at the University of California at San Diego in 1990 and a Master’s of Education with an emphasis on reading from Arizona State University in 1998. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona, where she taught in mostly high poverty schools for 16 years.  Her classroom teaching experiences included various elementary levels in both general and special education.  Sharon’s primary research interest is examining effective methods for helping high-risk children succeed in literacy before they fail. In particular, she is interested in peer-mediated interventions.  She is also interested in response-to-intervention models and teacher education.
