Florida-certified teachers who want to add a reading endorsement to their credentials can take the following five courses to be eligible for the Florida Reading endorsement.<\/p>\n

These courses are offered both online and on campus. Completion of these courses does not automatically result in earning the Florida Reading Endorsement. Candidates must submit transcripts on their own to the Florida Department of Education<\/a> for course count content analysis prior to receiving the official Florida Reading Endorsement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Teachers will (a) develop substantive understanding of six components of reading as a process: comprehension, oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, and vocabulary; (b) scaffold student learning by applying the principles of research-based reading instruction and integrating the six components of reading; and (c) engage in the systematic problem solving process.<\/p>\n
