ON-CAMPUS M.ED.

Master’s Program

This program is ideal for individuals with strong interest in research design and analysis of educational data. The M.Ed. program requires a practicum experience instead of a master’s thesis.

Graduates of this program work as data analysts, data scientists, measurement specialists, and program evaluators.

ONLINE M.ED.

Master’s Program

Master’s Program

The REM program prepares M.A.E. students to become experts in educational research methodology and analysis of educational data. This program requires students to write a master’s thesis. The M.A.E is well-suited for students who plan to continue on to a Ph.D. in research and evaluation methodology or another field.

ON-CAMPUS PH.D.

Doctorate Program

This program is ideal for students who have completed a master’s degree and want to pursue further training and research in educational statistics, psychometrics, evaluation, educational measurement and assessment, and educational research methods.  Students complete a doctoral dissertation that is an original and substantial contribution to the field. Students who hold only a bachelor’s degree  are eligible to apply to the Ph.D. program, but will be admitted to a M.A.E./Ph.D. combination program, which requires both a master’s thesis and a doctoral dissertation.

Graduates of this program work as highly qualified faculty in universities, methodologists and psychometricians for research and testing companies, and evaluators for school districts and various for-profit and non-profit organizations.

MINOR

This minor requires students to collaborating in research with a REM faculty member, have this faculty member serve in their doctoral or thesis committee, and complete a set of REM courses.

The minor in REM with a quantitative focus adds a strong foundation in research methods, educational statistics, and psychometrics. The minor in REM with a qualitative focus adds a strong foundation in epistemologies, research approaches, and data collection and analysis methods suitable for qualitative inquiry.

Program Evaluation in Educational Environments

ONLINE M.A.E.

Master’s Program

This program is ideal for professionals that are interested in meeting the high demand for well-trained specialists in program evaluation, particularly in educational settings. Program Evaluation in Educational Environments provides opportunities to learn and apply evaluation theory and tools; make professional connections, and work collaboratively in developing and assessing the impact of social science programs.

Graduates of this program work in public and private sectors, including federal and state agencies, school districts, community-based institutions, hospitals, and research consulting firms.
