Are you a master\u2019s or doctoral student at the University of Florida looking to strengthen your research and data analysis skills? The research evaluation methods (REM) graduate minor welcomes grad students from across UF and College of Education programs that are not part of the <\/span>School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education (HDOSE)<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This minor allows you to customize your studies to meaningfully complement your main academic focus. You can choose to focus on either quantitative or qualitative methods, building your expertise in assessment, research and evaluation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Program Overview<\/h2>\n

Our students receive hands-on mentorship to learn how to apply classroom concepts. You will collaborate directly with a REM faculty member on a research project\u2014such as co-authoring an academic paper for publication\u2014and have that faculty member serve on your thesis or doctoral committee. Your REM faculty mentor will also help you select the best sequence of courses to match your unique research interests and career goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

This graduate minor is highly customizable. Graduate Research Minor: Quantitative Methods Focus<\/b><\/h3>\n

This track provides a strong, rigorous foundation in the science of psychological and educational measurement, research methods and educational statistics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n

To take the advanced classes required for this minor, you must first complete our foundational courses: either EDF 6403 alone or the combination of EDF 6400 and EDF 6402. While these foundational courses are mandatory prerequisites, they do not count toward the total credits required to earn the minor. If you have taken similar foundational classes outside the College of Education, you may request a course substitution, which we evaluate on a case-by-case basis.<\/span><\/p>\n
