Step 1: Submit your University of Florida Graduate School Application

  • Select “School Psychology (SCP-PHD)” as your desired program
  • A $30.00 (non-refundable) Application Fee is required. Credit card payments require an additional $7.00 processing fee
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Transcripts* sent to:
    We strongly recommend sending your official transcripts electronically as this is the fastest delivery method. We accept electronic transcripts from Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, Credential Solutions, and eScrip-Safe. The University of Florida’s federal school code is 001535. When ordering your official documents, be sure to save any order confirmations for future reference.If you cannot send electronic transcripts, you’ll want to send or forward your official documents in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution to the University of Florida’s Office of Admissions at: Office of Admissions, 201 Criser Hall – PO-BOX 114000, Gainesville, FL 32611-4000.

NOTE: Previously enrolled graduate students, who have skipped two or more terms, and are looking to return to the exact same program and degree level at which they previously attended, should apply using the Returning Student Application.

Step 2: Supporting Application Material

 

Required Program Application Materials

  1. Résumé – Pursuant to Florida Statute, your application requires inclusion of all post-high school education and employment, as well as information about ongoing international affiliations and research funding. Please ensure this information is included on your curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé.
  2. Graduate School Fellowship/ Assistantship Form – Funding decisions for incoming students are made during the admissions review process. The personal statement and recommendation letters from your application will be used in place of the essay and recommenders required by this form. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit this form as part of the application process so that they can be considered for funding opportunities.

Step 3: Interview

The on-campus interview is a one day process that includes meeting individually and in small groups with School Psychology Program students and faculty.

Please email sespecsstaff@coe.ufl.edu in advance to inquire about a parking pass.

The interview dates for Fall 2025 admissions are scheduled for the following dates:

  • January 24th
  • January 31st

Telephone interviews can be arranged for those who cannot come to campus on a scheduled interview day, but we strongly encourage you to visit us.

    Application Deadlines

    • Applications for admission to the Ph.D. program beginning Fall 2025 will be accepted from September 16th until December 1st.
    • Allow 2-4 weeks to gather all application materials, including official transcripts and letters of recommendation, as all materials are required for review and admission.

    Acceptance

    • After completion of the interviews, all applicants are sent an initial admissions decision letter indicating admission, non-acceptance, or notification of placement on an alternate list.

    • Applicants receiving an offer of admission must respond in writing by April 15th to be formally admitted.

    • Applicants on the alternate list are offered admission when an offer is declined or not accepted by April 15th.
