Sevan is very responsive to whatever types of mentorship you need. At times I’ve needed more interaction with him and at other times I’ve needed to be in a cave by myself. If I said I needed to meet him once a week, he would be there.
I see Sevan as someone who’s always treated me as a colleague, not as a student. Anyone he takes on as a Ph.D. is also going to experience that.

I’ve met a little group that have shared interests. We’re planning to do research studies together. Working with the others, just came to me this year, I feel really excited to publish with this group.
Once you get a good, grounded understanding of the program, then you start getting excited about your topic. And working with them you go above and beyond.
