General Announcements

Peace Corps Applications Due July 1st
Are you graduating this summer or in December and still considering what to do post Graduation? Peace Corps is looking for talented individuals to utilize their teaching skills throughout the world. Your education background makes you quite valuable to developing communities. Teachers are needed to teach English, Math, Science, special education, and more. The next round of applications are due Wednesday, July 1st.  If you’re interested in seeing what opportunities there are for you, I invite you to explore the website at www.peacecorps.gov/openings. The application takes less than an hour so there is still time to be considered for positions departing in early 2016. If you need help with your resume or motivation statement, your campus Peace Corps Recruiter is happy to help. Email Bobbi at peacecorps@ufic.ufl.edu to set up an appointment.

ENC 5319- Scholarly Writing for Publication- Writing for Intersectional & Social Justice Research – Fall 2015
This workshop-style seminar is a valuable course for graduate students (and their advisor) as it will give a venue to make progress on and enhance thesis/dissertation writing or other research projects, allowing advisors to focus more on conceptual/methodological issues than on the writing. And, it brings a lens that many students are hungry for: intersectionality and social justice perspectives. See flyer for more details.

Babysitting/ Nanny/ Tutoring

Nanny Needed
Nanny for a toddler that has some soft markers for autism. He has not been diagnosed yet, but the family is on an early intervention plan with steps to take with him over the next several months. In this family, both parents work, so it’s important his nanny follow through on these steps with him during the week while they are away. For now, we need someone for three days a week at about 8 hours per day ($10/hour). The days will vary, because one parent is a fire fighter and has different days off each week. However, the mother is off on Fridays, so it should never fall on a Friday that this person would have to work.

Interested students can contact me with their resumes: jordananavarro@outlook.com.

Tutor Needed
Looking for someone to help our 6 year old granddaughter while she is staying with us in Gainesville during the first and possibly second week of July. The two areas she needs help with are reading and math. Please contact Dr. Michael Weaver at michael.weaver@ufl.edu or 317-379-6976.
