Brown Center for Leadership & Service: Projects for Peace Information Sessions
Would you like $10,000 to create a positive change this summer? Projects for Peace, a grant program sponsored by the Davis Foundation, will be holding information sessions to guide undergraduate students through the process of designing a summer project proposal! The Global Culture Photo Competition
The University of Florida International Center (UFIC) invites students, faculty, staff and alumni to enter their annual international photography contest. All photographs must portray the theme “Global Culture”. Each entrant may submit up to two digital photos in only one chosen category. For the theme, award details, and categories, please visit the International Center. The deadline is October 18, 2019 at 11:59 PM.

Association of American Colleges and Universities: Session Proposals
The Association of American Colleges and Universities invites session proposals for the 2020 Diversity, Equity, and Student Success Conference, which will explore the power of collective action to build more just and equitable campuses and communities. Proposals are due Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

AERA Minority Dissertation Fellowship in Education Research
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) is pleased to announce the AERA Minority Dissertation Fellowship in Education Research. Harn Museum of Art Internships
Description: Have you ever wondered what is like to work in an art museum? Harn internships are offered with the goal of providing professional experience, growth opportunities and guidance from museum professionals. Stanford Law School Research Fellow
Commitment: Full-time, starting Summer 2020. Some applicants available to start earlier will also be considered. Fellowships last for one year, with an option to renew for a second year by mutual agreement of the professor and the fellow.
Description: Assist with the research of Professors John J. Donohue, Jacob Goldin, Daniel Ho, Daniel Kessler, and Alison Morantz at Stanford Law School. Designed for graduating seniors or recent college or master’s program graduates, fellowships provide a unique opportunity for those considering graduate school, law school, and/or business school in the future.
Prior Research Fellows have matriculated to Ph.D. programs at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Columbia, and NYU and law school at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and Columbia. They have been drawn from a variety of undergraduate disciplines, including economics, political science, applied math, public policy, statistics, engineering, and computer science.
Successful applicants will be matched with a specific professor based on background and interests. As full-time Stanford University employees, fellows will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, including full medical and dental insurance, access to campus athletic and academic facilities, paid vacation time, professional development funds, and the capacity to audit Stanford courses and attend on-campus lectures and seminars free of charge.
Job responsibilities will vary by position, but involve all aspects of the research process including:
- Conceptualization of suitable empirical methodologies and models
- Collecting, managing, and structuring quantitative datasets
- Statistical analyses of complex datasets and interpretation of results
- Communication with government officials, industry stakeholders, and research collaborators
- Report writing and manuscript preparation
Job qualifications:
- Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, political science, computer science, statistics, or applied math
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the social sciences or another relevant field
- Outstanding academic credentials and intellectual creativity
- Eagerness to take initiative and solve intricate problems
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Exceptional research and analytical writing skills
- Programming experience in R, Python, Stata, SAS, or other languages is strongly preferred
- Prior research experience and coursework in the empirical social sciences is preferred, but not required

The deadline for the second round is 7:00AM PST on Monday, January 6, 2020. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis and preference will be given to first-round applicants. Operation Full STEAM Volunteers
Description: We are looking for individual or group volunteers for Operation Full STEAM, a program at the Cade Museum. The program happens on Wednesday mornings only and is an educational outreach program for 2nd and 3rd grade students from three local elementary schools. Full STEAM volunteers assist the education team with all aspects of these Wednesday morning field trips, including setting up activities and helping students engage in lab and exhibit experiences. Volunteers in this role must be adaptable, patient, and enthusiastic about working with school-aged children.

Build Your Success: First Year Florida Peer Leader Program
Description: First Year Florida will be hosting information sessions on October 10th for interested Peer Leader applicants. First Year Florida is a course designed to aid students in a successful transition to the University of Florida by connecting students to campus, promoting engagement within and outside the classroom, and communicating university expectations. The First Year Florida Peer Leader Program will provide students the ability to serve as a facilitator, resource, role model, and representative of UF.

SAILE Leadership Opportunity
Description: The Student Activities and Involvement Leadership Experience program or SAILE is a 6-week selective leadership series for current student leaders at the University of Florida. Participants will be challenged to enhance their current positional leadership style and grow in their identity as a leader on campus.
Participants in SAILE will:
- Maximize current leadership style
- Gain strategies for effective delegation
- Examine the dynamic between leader and follower
- Increase facilitation of group dynamics
- Aid in organizational sustainability
- Help organizations solve complex challenges
Sessions are led by faculty, staff, and community facilitators with a strong emphasis on dialogue, interaction between participants, activities, and reflection.

Description: Gator alumni family seeking a person that is good with children for after school childcare for a 7 year old boy with ADHD. We would like someone with a fun, lighthearted, energetic personality who enjoys engaging with an active, intelligent, curious little guy. You’ll need your own transportation to get to our home in the Duckpond area of Gainesville, near Tom Petty Park. Any particular skills such as music, art, sports, and a love of nature would be great. There’s a creek nearby full of minnows and crawfish! Must be patient and kind. We ask that phone use is limited to emergencies, and no tv or video games during that time.
When: 3 afternoons per week (after school), 4:00-6:30
