October is Disability Advocacy Month
The Disability Resource Center invites UF students, faculty, and staff to join us in celebrating Disability Advocacy Month. Out month-long celebration will offer opportunities to engage in conversations around disability inclusion and advocacy efforts to increase access for the disability community. Brown Center for Leadership & Service: Projects for Peace Information Sessions
Would you like $10,000 to create a positive change this summer? Projects for Peace, a grant program sponsored by the Davis Foundation, will be holding information sessions to guide undergraduate students through the process of designing a summer project proposal! The Global Culture Photo Competition
The University of Florida International Center (UFIC) invites students, faculty, staff and alumni to enter their annual international photography contest. All photographs must portray the theme “Global Culture”. Each entrant may submit up to two digital photos in only one chosen category. For the theme, award details, and categories, please visit the International Center. The deadline is October 18, 2019 at 11:59 PM.

Dallas ISD Teacher Interviews in Orlando
Description: The Dallas Independent School District will be going to Orlando, Florida to conduct teacher interviews. There is also an opportunity to receive an early contract for the 2020-2021 school year. The starting salary for a novice teacher is $54,000 with the possibility of making more if you have classroom experience.

Fessenden Elementary School Support Facilitator
Description: Fessenden Elementary School in Marion County is searching for a Support Facilitator that will work in regular education classrooms supporting students with disabilities. Fessenden is only 35 minutes south from Norman Hall. The diverse population of rural students provide a wonderful beginning to any teaching career. Principal Lacy Redd, a UF grad, is a veteran turnaround principal that believes in supporting and mentoring young educators into the profession.

Camp Laurel South Summer Internship
Description: Camp Laurel South is a residential summer camp in Maine seeking college students to be activity instructors and camp counselors for the summer of 2020. This is a great summer experience that can fulfill many internship requirements. Laurel South is among the most well-respected camps in the country. AIM (Aces in Motion) Volunteers
Description: AIM is a positive youth development free after school program focused on academic achievement, character development and healthy lifestyles. We partner with families of middle school and high school students from the under resourced communities of Gainesville, working together to overcome educational inequities so that our students can secure a post-secondary future.

Operation Full STEAM Volunteers
Description: We are looking for individual or group volunteers for Operation Full STEAM, a program at the Cade Museum. The program happens on Wednesday mornings only and is an educational outreach program for 2nd and 3rd grade students from three local elementary schools. Full STEAM volunteers assist the education team with all aspects of these Wednesday morning field trips, including setting up activities and helping students engage in lab and exhibit experiences. Volunteers in this role must be adaptable, patient, and enthusiastic about working with school-aged children.

After School Childcare
Description: We are looking for a great nanny for one child for after school hours. She is 6 years old and is in the first grade. She is funny, artistic, and caring. She does best with structure and routine (she needs to know what is expected of her and what the plan is for the day). One of us works in UF and the other parent works at home. We have a separate pool house space you would use to watch her most of the time. We have a great outdoor space and a pool; screen time should be limited. Please be comfortable with pets (cat and dogs). If you can do school pickups, that is a plus! If not, the hours would shift slightly (2 to 5 most days).
When: After school, during the school year (not needed on school holidays) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 1:30pm-4:30pm, Weds 1pm-4:30pm, Fri 1:30pm-4pm
