The UF McNair Scholars Program is Currently Accepting Applications
What Is the McNair Scholars Program?
The Ronald E. McNair Scholars is a nationally recognized program designed for undergraduate students who are committed to advancing their education through research and scholarship with the goal of earning a PhD. Our program provides research experience, academic training, mentorship, and many other resources to help first-generation/income-eligible students prepare for the challenges and rewards of graduate education.
Who is eligible to apply?
To be considered for the program a student must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be a first-generation college student AND income-eligible
- Have a strong interest in graduate education and research
- Have earned at least 60 credits by the start of Summer 2025
- Be within 1-2 years of completing the bachelor’s degree, but not graduating before Spring 2026
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Plan to go directly to graduate school after earning a bachelor’s degree, with the goal of completing a PhD or another research doctorate

Award
Scholars are selected based on merit. Award amounts range from $500 – $5,000, based on relative need.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be of Hispanic heritage
U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the US, for the 2025-2026 academic year
Submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms (if applicable)

CoE Graduate Program Student Personnel in Higher Education is Recruiting New Students
The University of Florida Student Personnel in Higher Education program is designed to prepare students to enter Student Affairs or related fields in higher education or education adjacent professions.
Students who join the SPHE on-campus master’s program graduate prepared to take on leadership roles in student affairs and related fields in a variety of settings. This program integrates academic coursework with practitioner-based experience to put theory into action as a scholar-practitioner, while growing your connections and building relationships across the Gator Nation.
The SPHE master’s degree consists of 33 credit hours of core classes and 3 credit hours of supervised practicum and internship experiences (36 credit hours total). Students enter the graduate program in the fall semester as members of a cohort group. The group provides support and builds a sense of community for the students. All students are assigned a faculty advisor at the time of admission and have a graduate assistantship.

FOSTER is a student organization on campus for students who believe in the importance of strong, healthy relationships and strong, healthy families. Our club focuses on educating members on how they can foster healthier relationships with loved ones, primarily through guest speakers and group discussions. We also focus on supporting children and families in the community through service events and donation drives.

Cedar Key Arts Center-Paid Summer Art Teacher
The Cedar Key Arts Center offers a summer arts program in July. The program runs for 2 consecutive weeks and serves all grade levels. Active Learning Program (ALP)-Spring/Summer 2025 Internship

Each year, we revamp the activity guides with new information, activities, and ideas for all our schools. Balance 180 Hands On Learning Opportunity
Balance 180 Gymnastics & Sports Academy, is a local non-profit organization that focuses on integrating children with and without special needs through sports. This spring, we are offering a hands-on learning experience available for students interested in working with children. We are looking for highly motivated volunteers to participate in our Adaptive classes on Saturdays. Below is a brief description of the program. During our Adaptive Gymnastics Classes, we teach gymnasts with physical or intellectual disabilities foundational skills on the vault, bars, beam, and floor in a step-by-step, individualized process. Our volunteers work one-on-one with the athletes and help each athlete work at their own pace. Volunteers focus on helping the athletes improve motor skills and encourage them to follow instructions and make new friends. The Adaptive Gymnastics volunteering will be held on most Saturdays, listed specifically on the below flyer, from 12:30-2:30 PM.

A local Gainesville family is seeking students whose native language is English to tutor a 16-year-old boy on the autism spectrum. He is intelligent and has no behavioral issues. The tutor will primarily assist with reading comprehension, speech, some high school homework, and social communication skills. Additionally, the family is looking for a student coach to help the boy with swimming, basketball, tennis, or other outdoor sports. The pay is $30-35 per hour.
