Teacher Preparation Programs: English, Social Science, and Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).

This five-year teacher preparation program includes a bachelor’s degree from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences or the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, plus a master’s degree from the College of Education.

ENGLISH EDUCATION – Students who plan to complete the state and CAEP approved ProTeach program in English education should complete an undergraduate degree in English.  For more information, visit the English ProTeach webpage.

SOCIAL SCIENCE EDUCATION – Students who plan to complete the state and CAEP approved ProTeach program in social science should major in anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology.  For more information, visit the Social Studies ProTeach webpage.

SCIENCE EDUCATION  Students who plan to complete the state and CAEP approved PROTEACH program and become certified in biology, chemistry or physics should major in biology, botany, chemistry, entomology, integrated biology, microbiology, physics, wildlife ecology, or zoology. For more information, visit the Science ProTeach webpage.
