During the bachelor’s degree, if you decide you won’t be pursuing a career in teaching, you might consider leaving ProTeach after the bachelor’s degree. Thinking about other helping professions within education? We’re happy to help you plan your new path.
If you do want to teach, a benefit of staying for the fifth year is that you’ll complete a Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) approved program. If you decide to leave with the bachelor’s degree and plan to teach, we can answer questions about the temporary certification process in Florida and what to expect as you work toward professional certification while teaching; eligibility for endorsements would be determined by the FLDOE. Eligibility for certification in another state is uncertain. We’re happy to help guide you in your research.
