University of Florida Unites Teachers to Reform Education in Science

Science Teacher Leadership Institute

This five-year NSF MSP project (award #1050166) has a dual mission: (1) preparing Science Teacher Leaders to lead a transformation in middle school science in low-achieving, high-poverty Florida school districts, and (2) preparing middle school science teachers to successfully implement the transformative IQWST: Investigating and Questioning our World through Science and Technology curriculum.

Forty participants in the two-year U-FUTuRES Science Teacher Leadership Institute will complete 30 hours of job-embedded graduate-level coursework in science education and science content, and an action research project (in lieu of thesis) to earn a M.A.E. in Science Education.
