University of Florida Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia

UF’s Online Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia is a fully online program designed to help educators develop the knowledge and skills to provide individualized reading interventions for students with dyslexia. Teachers learn to conduct and interpret effective literacy assessments and design and implement evidence-based literacy intervention for students with dyslexia in K-12 settings. The certificate qualifies teachers for State of Florida Reading Endorsement.

Florida Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Support -- Online Course (20 CEUs)

Reading Difficulties, Disabilities, and Dyslexia – Revised is one of many independent study courses offered by the FLDOE. This course provides information for K-12 general education and ESE teachers who teach students with reading difficulties. It clarifies differences between various types of reading challenges and disabilities, including dyslexia. It provides information on assessment, data-based decision making, and how to select appropriate interventions to match student need. It includes information about multisensory and structured literacy approaches to instruction and other learning supports ensure students access to standards-based content. Teachers must make arrangements with their district to receive CEUs toward certification.

The Center for Effective Reading Instruction

The Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) is an affiliate of the International Dyslexia Association. They issues certifications to those who possess the knowledge and skill necessary to implement Structured Literacy practices. CERI offers a database of International Dyslexia Association accredited higher educationand independent teacher training programs and free instructional modules through Reading Rockets.

International Dyslexia Association (IDA)

The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) has an accreditation program that rigorously reviews educator preparation programs based on alignment with their Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading (KPS).

National Center on Improving Literacy

The National Center on Improving Literacy has numerous resources for self-guided professional learning.
