Lisa M. Abrams, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Research and Evaluation at Virginia Commonwealth University and a co-investigator on the BEST in CLASS project. Dr. Abrams’ research interests include methodology, intervention research, ethical issues in the conduct of research in school-based settings, test-based accountability , high-stakes testing and assessment. Dr. Abrams serves as the PI on an NIH-funded project design to support the instruction of research concepts and methods in secondary classrooms. She has worked extensively with Virginia Department of Education to examine the alignment of the state Standards of Learning assessments with the Standards of Learning content standards for both the standard and alternative forms of the state assessments. Dr. Abrams has published many refereed articles and chapters and presented at numerous international, national and local conferences related to assessment, intervention studies, and testing policy.
