Informing Education Policy in Florida and Across the Nation
The Education Policy Research Center (EPRC) is an independent research center housed within the College of Education at the University of Florida that unites interdisciplinary scholars from across the university to provide research needed to inform education policy in meaningful ways. The core researchers are drawn from the fields of education, economics, public policy, political science, and sociology, among others. At its core, EPRC’s mission is to stimulate and support scholarly research on relevant and timely education policy issues and to disseminate the findings widely to students, educators scholars, and policymakers.
Research and Evaluation
The Education Policy Research Center brings together a multi-disciplinary team of researchers with a range of expertise in areas of education policy across the PK-16 spectrum. Quantitative and qualitative researchers from the fields of education, public policy, economics, sociology, and others publish cutting-edge research that informs policy both in Florida and nationally.
From policy briefs and research reports to op-eds and media appearances, the Education Policy Research Center translates research to policy and practice through innovate means of communication. Effective policy is driven by accessible, evidence-based resources and the Center sits at the core of UF’s drive to better educational systems nationally.
Events and Engagement
On UF’s campus, in capitol buildings, and in the classrooms of schools, the Education Policy Research Center facilitates conversation and engagement around education policy. A weekly research brown bag and a seminar series featuring high-profile researchers from across the country are just a few of the ways the Center brings evidence-based dialogue to education policy conversations.
