Notes

• At the start of the meeting Dean Good suggested that it would be good for Hector to go over his review of the State appropriations budget.
• Hector reviewed the budget as of 9/30/24 – discussing that there are new entities such as the Lastinger Center and AZCECE included on the State appropriations budget this year. These are now included because they are designated as affiliates to the CoE.
• Hector essentially gave a line-by-line report of the budget and indicated that the tuition money allocated for 2024-25 has dropped from 2023-24.
• Hector also indicated that what he was showing us was a sub-set of the money for CoE – approximately 62.6 million is connected to State appropriations.
• There was some discussion on the purpose of the group – which is faculty oversight of how the budget is being allocated by the Dean’s Office.
• Glenn answered questions from committee members – for example, he talked about salary savings and how those stay in the schools to benefit the schools.
• Members of the group decided that over the course of the committee’s work this year we would like to gather additional information on the following:
  • Funding projections over time
  • Development dollars
  • Research dollars
  • A breakdown of tuition in terms of BAES and teacher preparation. Additionally, it would be helpful to recruitment efforts for programs to have more data on monies by program level (Undergrad, Masters, EdS, EdD, and PhD)
  • The carry forward numbers as the year progresses
• We discussed having our next meeting early in the Spring semester.
• Pasha Antonenko expressed his okay to take on the responsibilities of being the Chair of the committee.
• Pasha and Vicki will set up the next meeting early in the spring 2025 semester.
