#1 Call to Order & Introductions

The meeting was called to order by Technology & Distance Education Committee Co-Chair Bojan Lazarevic at 9:00 a.m.

#2 Recommendations Review

The Committee members reviewed the 2023-2024 report prepared by Helena Mawdsley. The discussion focus was placed on three recommendations provided by the previous committee assembly as follows:

  • Continue supporting the faculty with using AI in teaching and learning
  • Blue Ribbon competitions
  • Course mapping and 2025 Strategic Online Plan

#3 Goals for the Academic 2024-2025 Year

After reviewing recommendations, the Committee engaged in an in-depth discussion centered around goals for 2024-2025. All members were in agreement to carry out the suggested goals from the previous year and included an additional goal related to professional development. As such, the following four goals are identified:

  1. Support the COE faculty efforts in the process of integrating AI in teaching and learning (via f2f workshops or webinars)
  2. Reinvigorate Blue Ribbon competition, which was disrupted (discontinued) during the global pandemic
  3. Provide continuous support to the COE program coordinators and course designers in their efforts to meet QM+UF standards, especially course mapping
  4. Conduct professional development sessions to support online TAs (doctoral students) and adjuncts

The Committee remains open to re-adjusting the proposed goals based on suggestions from the COE Dean and ETC office.
