Goals of the Committee

  1. Support college re: online grad programs re: recruitment and retention
  2. Follow-up on outcomes related to the spring 2023 summit
    • 2(a) Review applicant data re: online grad programs
  3. Support faculty re: AI in teaching and learning

Goals 1 & 2, 2a – Goals Met

Oct – Dec 2023 met with Nathan Hanson, and Elayne Colon. Feedback from April 2023 summit reviewed. Recommendation to close goal and focus on AI related topics.

Recommendation for Faculty to Encourage Diverse Online Students’ Recruitment:

  • Outreach
  • Look at where your students are located, especially for out of state students
  • Pull data from the last five years to gather trends
  • Look at diversity by region
  • Pull by home state to encourage growth and recruitment
  • Collaboration across programs re: strategies for recruitment
  • Collaborate with ETC re: targeted areas for marketing

Goal 3 – Met

Committee Organized and presented “Using AI in Teaching and Learning” with ETC and CITT. Feb 2024.

  • In Person and online
  • Presentation – participants were hands on using AI tools for course development
  • ~35-40 participants
  • Positive feedback – faculty desire more workshops like this

Goal 4 – Met

Met with ETC multiple times during meetings to discuss how to support faculty with QM/UF Markers Alignment for Statewide Audit.

2024-2025 T&Ed Carry Forward Recommendations

  • Continue supporting the faculty with using AI in teaching and learning
    • Student work
    • Course development
    • Workshops
  • Work with ETC re: potential Blue Ribbon competitions
  • Support ETC and College re: Course mapping and 2025 Strategic Online Plan
    • Recommendations for future support: some faculty have so many courses. Need to help faculty meet the baseline standard.
    • The directors of the 3 schools and deans should get together and develop college wide goals that are incremental.
    • Discussion re: requiring course maps for approval of new courses by COE CC.
