Course Development

  • Diagram of ID Process
  • By 2025 – most courses should be migrated to digital-facing modality
  • Robust efforts require multiple departments/ sources of funding/ strategy
  • Dr. Rios – Explore minority-serving institution status; what would that look like? Where do we stand substantively, statistically?

Minority Enrollment

  • HB 1035 – line 256? – public school teachers get 6 credits per semester!

Blue Ribbon – Ramp Up Course Development

  • Initially conceived as a scale up starting small, has not continued since last summer. Revisit this for Summer 2024
  • Drs. Lazarevic & Castaneda Rios – Blue Ribbon process immensely helpful – $2,500 stipend
  • Dr. Dana – let’s begin recruiting for a new cohort; explore funds
  • Dr. Lazarevic – “Course Blueprint Process” Use of master blueprint shell – a certified course that can be lightly iterated upon utilizing a single shell across sections.
  • Sequencing – very difficult to do many at one time; many 5-10; Dr. Rios – a single course can have a trickle down effect as instructors go through process/ informs practice

Other Items

  • AI student-generated work – Dr. Dana – new pedagogy required in light of generative AI tech. “Inevitably change how we work”.
  • Explore what UF is offering; what we might be able to offer in COE
  • Assessments will need to be rethought – “tactile”, soft skills?
  • December meeting – ETC / Domenic offers a clinic of some sort
