Message from Ian Clontz, the new Video Production Manager at the College of Education, joined by Studio Manager Angela Epps:

We’re excited to embark on a new era of creating high-quality, engaging content for the college. To introduce ourselves and our services, we’re reaching out to offer our support for your upcoming courses, grants, and other funded projects.

To assist in the preparation of online courses for Spring 2025, we’re offering studio time for recording module intros during the following dates:

  • November 11th-15th
  • November 18th-22nd
  • December 9th-13th
  • December 16th-19th

If you’re interested in scheduling a studio session or exploring other video production services for future projects, please visit our website to fill out the Studio Request Form. This allows us to track equipment and space for the college and our unit.

Professional Development Opportunity for Microcredentials

  • See the email – November 21st – Domenic and Jason leading
  • Getting creative in this ever unknown space for education
  • You can use any LMS you want for microcredentials – Domenic and team typically design through RISE

What Should Be the Next Steps for Creating These Workshops/Seminars?

  • Maybe start with the microcredentials workshop and go from there?
  • Training session/discussion – then decide who is interested going forth with this
  • Workshops/microcredentials – opportunities to work with school districts through the COE – teaching methods using AI (Bojan idea)

Canvas Courses Through ETC

  • Canvas course through ETC – online teaching methods for adjuncts – will be offered
  • Canvas course through ETC – online teaching methods for new faculty – will be offered

Workshops – Ideas from Faculty

  • Domenic would like to pair up with faculty to lead these trainings/workshops once he has determined the need for each webinar topic
  • Seminars or webinars?
  • If we make Zoom available then we have low face-to-face attendance

TAs, Adjuncts, Doc Students

  • Need teaching support for undergrad courses
  • Organize 3 times meeting per year – Orientation for online teaching methods – conducted during the first/second week of the semester, then again throughout the semester as needed
  • Maybe share Canvas course before the semester and then do the just in time training with the adjunct faculty
  • Face-to-face/real time conversation would be preferable for our session ideas
  • Focus on technical skills, teaching pedagogy, engagement methods
  • Ratio of full time faculty vs. adjuncts/doc students for teaching online undergrad courses
  • Just in time training – include faculty member and ID in the planning/presentation
