Prospective Elementary Education Students

At the University of Florida, the Elementary Education Program equips aspiring educators to become confident, creative leaders in K–6 classrooms. Whether you enroll in our immersive on-campus track or our flexible, fully online Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.E.), you’ll engage in research-based coursework paired with rich real-world experiences—from early clinical placements to a full-year senior internship—that prepare you to earn Florida professional certification with Reading and ESOL endorsements.

On-Campus B.A.E.

Bachelors Program

The Elementary Education major prepares future teachers to create supportive and engaging learning environments for all children in grades K–6. Guided by research-based instructional frameworks, the program blends rigorous coursework with hands-on clinical field experiences.

Students develop the skills to work effectively within today’s school systems while advocating for change to better meet all learning needs. Graduates earn Florida professional certification in Elementary Education (K–6) with endorsements in ESOL and Reading, equipping them to teach and inspire the next generation.

Online B.A.E.

Bachelors Program

The Online Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.E.) program at UF prepares future elementary teachers through a fully online, competency-based curriculum. Students build essential teaching skills while gaining real-world classroom experience through district partnerships and mentorship from experienced educators. Graduates emerge confident, well-prepared, and ready to lead in today’s classrooms.

Requirements: AA degree 
Typical Course Load: 12-15 credits per semester
