60th Anniversary of Undergraduate Integration
Please join the University of Florida for the commemoration of 60 years of undergraduate integration at the University of Florida. Carrying the theme of “A Pioneer’s Journey: A Look Back on the Way Forward”, we will celebrate and reflect on the courage and commitment of our pioneers, past and present, to advancing the ideals of education, freedom, and equality. The event will be held on October 21 from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Harn Museum of Art.

Teach for America
Description: Teach For America is a national non-profit, leadership development organization that enlists the nation’s top leaders to fight educational inequity in America. For over 30 years, we have placed 60,000 college graduates in a two year commitment in a low income classroom so that they might fulfill the urgent needs of students and gain proximity and nuanced understanding of educational inequities. During the two year commitment, we provide ongoing professional development, in person coaching, and a 10-12K Americorps stipend to help students get a masters degree or pay off student debt. We also provide 5K of transitional stipend for all students during summer training with Teach For America.
