The English Language Institute is currently accepting language assistant applications for its Fall C term from August 30^th  – December 14^th. Language assistants act as peer leaders for our English learners and lead outdoor conversational activities for a group of 10-15 international students and also interact with them at fun events! This is a paid student assistant position designed for undergraduate students.

Description: The Florida Museum is now accepting applications now for the Fall 2023 Florida Museum Undergraduate Internship Program, aimed at reaching UF students from a variety of majors and backgrounds. This award program seeks to support undergraduate students by facilitating their work on museum-based internship projects. Internships are to be focused on gaining experience in collections work, laboratory analysis, and/or fieldwork.
Pay Rate: Awards supporting up to 80 hours of work at $17.00/hr will be funded.  We anticipate funding for eight students, with support coming from the Department of Natural History, the Department of Education and Public Programs, and iDigBio.

Description: Balance 180 summer camp provides a great learning experience for student volunteers. All of our volunteers work 1-1 or 2-1 with the participating campers in various activities, including gymnastics time, crafts, and games. The athletes have a variety of disabilities, including Autism, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, and Cerebral Palsy, among others. The camp will be offered from July 10th to July 28th and will be held Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Volunteers can select the days and hours that they can join us, so that it works for their schedule.

Description: Our names are Bella and Adrienne and we run an organization here at UF called Women Building Women. We mentor 60+ at risk girls in underserved middle schools here in Gainesville and have had enormous success with our program.

As we formed these relationships with school administrators, we are constantly getting asked the question– do you know any groups that do similar things for male students? This fall, we are hoping to fill the dire need for male mentors in Westwood and/or Howard Bishop Middle School. Female mentors are encouraged to apply through our regular application cycle in September!

Our goal is to start with a small group of 15+ male mentors. They would be subject to a brief interview process before completing 1 hour of training initially and 4 throughout the semester.

Description: Children Beyond Our Borders is a nonprofit organization that runs a variety of programs for our mission to eliminate barriers to education for children locally and in Latin America. The mentorship program, the Triunfadores College Prep Program (CPP), aims to provide educational resources for low-income, migrant, and otherwise disadvantaged K-12 students in Alachua County through weekly, one-on-one tutoring sessions with college students and volunteers.

Description: Signature Academics is in need of a tutor that is either Wilson or Orton Gillingham trained to work with a student located near the WEC showgrounds in Ocala. The student is a sixth grade female diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia.
