Welcome to the Counselor Education Program at the University of Florida’s College of Education! Established as one of the first counseling programs in the nation, we have prepared leaders in counseling since our first Ph.D. cohort graduated in 1956. Embedded within the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education, the program offers a rigorous curriculum across specialty areas, including Marriage and Family Counseling, School Counseling, and Mental Health Counseling. Our programs equip students with the skills needed to become licensed professionals, advocates, and leaders in their communities, backed by a commitment to diversity, research, and practical experience. Explore how each of our degree paths can help you advance in the counseling profession, develop a unique counseling approach, and make a meaningful impact on lives and communities.
