- Advanced Practicum in Counseling (3 credits) and/or
- MHS/SDS 7830– Internship in Counseling and Development (5 credits)
- MHS 7804/MHS 7807/SDS 7820 – Group Supervision for Agency/Marriage & Family/School Counseling and Guidance (3 credits)
These are options for clinical internship completed at the doctoral level. Other clinical practicum and internship included in the planned program satisfy entry-level requirements. The Advanced Practicum is a 3-credit alternative to the full clinical internship. Consult with doctoral chair and the Advanced Practicum or Clinical Internship.
Advanced Practicum is 100 hours minimum, and 40 hours of direct service.
Internships in Counseling and Development are 400 hours minimum, and 240 hours of direct service.
Internships may be completed full-time in one academic semester (Fall or Spring semesters only) or may be split over two semesters. (Fall, Spring, or Summer C semesters).
Students must have a complete set of clinical documentation to receive a grade for their clinical experience. Students registering for a split internship must submit a complete set of clinical documentation for each clinical course. Grades are Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory (U). Students missing paperwork at the end of term will receive a U grade until their file is complete.
