Marina Basu, Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Qualitative Methodology in the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education. Her areas of specialization include qualitative methodology, teacher education, creativity studies, and STEM. She earned her Ph.D. in Learning, Literacies and Technologies from Arizona State University in 2025. Her dissertation, “Reflection is a Creative Act: Supporting Mathematics Teachers’ Self-inquiry through Embodied Reflective Practices,” examined mathematics teachers’ self-inquiry through embodied reflective practices.
Her research and teaching experience includes qualitative and arts-based inquiry, teacher preparation, mathematics education, creativity, reflective practices, curriculum development, and educational assessment. Her research at Arizona State University has included work on qualitative methodology, mathematics teacher learning, creativity, children’s relationships with nature, educational futures, and Black girls as creators of artificial intelligence.
